J'ai apprécié l'aspect plus calme de la ville, marchant régulièrement seule dans les rues, mais aussi le centre plus animé, où j'ai retrouvé quelques repères familiers comme la gare, la bibliothèque publique et le centre commercial Westfield.
Mon quartier favori à Melbourne est sans aucun doute Southbank, avec ses chemins emplis d'herbe et de fleurs qui longent le fleuve Yarra. Ce dernier est d'ailleurs surmonté de ponts comme la Seine à Paris, et chaque pont est très distinct, parfois tout en modernité, parfois en vieilles pierres.
Vous pouvez aussi y découvrir la vue sur la skyline de Melbourne, où les buildings ont la particularité d'être très originaux et créatifs, avec d'abondants motifs et des couleurs allant du vert au violet. J'avoue que la vue était magique avec toutes ces couleurs se reflétant dans l'eau.
J'ai dégusté une bière au gingembre en plein milieu de l'eau, sous un pont où se cache un petit bar fort sympathique et je me souviens encore de la vue magnifique que j'avais ainsi, au centre du fleuve.
Melbourne est également la ville du street art par excellente ! L'art y est partout, notamment sur les murs du centre ville et du Queen Victoria Market, et franchement c'est plutôt réussi, il est difficile de ne pas s'arrêter prendre une photo et l'atmosphère est assez surréaliste.
Enfin, même si ce ne sont pas pas mes parcs préférés, j'ai aimé les Carlton's gardens et le Flagstaff park, étincelant de fleurs et de verdure au milieu de la la ville, qui permettent de se ressourcer et de découvrir les arbres majestueux de l'Etat de Victoria, qui ressemblent à ceux du bush australien.
En bref, une ville où il sera simple de vous repérer et très loin de Sydney avec ces rues à l'américaine, mais néanmoins très dépaysante...

Melbourne is a very different city from Sydney, although they are often compared to each other. It is a city with a more european dimension, with fewer buildings and more historical buildings a little lost in the four corners of the city.
I enjoyed the calmer aspect of the city, walking regularly alone in the streets, but also the bustling center, where I found some familiar landmarks like the train station, the public library and the Westfield shopping center.
My favorite neighborhood in Melbourne is undoubtedly Southbank, with its paths filled with grass and flowers that line the Yarra River. The latter is surmounted by bridges like the Seine in Paris, and each bridge is very distinct, sometimes all in modernity, sometimes in old stones.
You can also see the skyline view of Melbourne, where the buildings have the distinction of being very original and creative, with abundant patterns and colors ranging from green to purple. I admit that the view was magical with all the colors reflected in the water.
I tasted a ginger beer in the middle of the water, under a bridge which hides a small bar very nice and I still remember the magnificent view that I had thus, in the center of the river.
Melbourne is also the city of street art ! The art is everywhere, especially on the walls of the city center and the Queen Victoria Market, and frankly it is rather successful, it is difficult not to stop taking a picture and the atmosphere is quite surreal.
Finally, although not my favorite parks, I liked the Carlton's gardens and the Flagstaff park, sparkling with flowers and greenery in the middle of the city, which allow you to recharge and discover the majestic trees of the Victoria State, which seem like those of the Australian bush.
In short, a city where it will be simple to locate you and very far from Sydney with these streets in the american way, but nonetheless very exotic...
